Poetic Justice

As of late, I have been very self-aware and conscious about the type of energy I put out into the world and likewise, the type of energy that I receive. I have always been a very sensitive person. By sensitive I mean that I have always been able to read people very well and examine their energy - be it positive or negative. I can usually tell a person's true colors within the first few hours around them. However, in the past, I have been known to spot out negative energy and still allow it into my life. The older - well more like wiser - that I have gotten, I have definitely let that go. At this point in my life I have adopted a zero tolerance attitude for negative energy in all forms that it may come.

I'm not sure if you all have seen the movie Poetic Justice starring Janet Jackson and if you haven't then what on earth are you doing with your life? Well, the outfit I am wearing in this post got me thinking about poetic justice and its literal meaning. Side note, if you don't know why this outfit made me think of Poetic Justice, here you go. Great movie! Anyway, literarydevices.net defines poetic justice as "an ideal form of justice in which the good characters are rewarded and the bad characters are punished by an ironic twist of their fate." This got me thinking a lot about the kind of energy I want to put out into the world. I strive every day to be the best person I can be in all aspects of my life. I realize that nobody is perfect and mistakes will always be made, but it is important to me that I at least try every day to do right by everyone I encounter. I hope to always put out good and positive energy and I expect the same from the people I allow in my life. Do good, get good and do bad, get bad.

BUSY BEE

This has been an unusually busy week for me. I started 2014 with a plate full of new endeavors so I've been trying to fully wrap my head around everything. I've been such a busy bee these days! That said, I think I am finally getting in the swing of things. I'm really big on routines so I've been trying to organize my life and kind of create a set routine for myself. Hmmm, I know I just wrote "I think I am finally getting in the swing of things," but now that I think about it I think I've got a little ways to go. It's probably because there's a couple more things I need to work into my schedule that I haven't done yet. If you have any advice to offer please do leave a comment or shoot me an email! Do you like routines? How do you organize your life? What changes (if any) came into your life at the start of 2014 and how have you handled them?

During a busy week, I like to stay comfy and casual but still chic! This week, my go-to shoe was this pair of H&M zip up ankle boots. If you are looking for some comfy ankle boots that will still sexify your outfit, then go to H&M. I have my eye on a different pair of ankle boots EVERY time I walk in that store!

Things Could Always Be Worse

It actually happened everyone! The impossible finally happened to me! MY HARDDRIVE FAILED ON MY MACBOOK! I always heard stories from people about how their harddrive failed and they lost everything, but I never thought it would happen to me! I am currently typing out this blogpost on pretty much a brand new computer! My baby came back to me completely empty; no music, no photos, no NOTHING! AHHHHH

Now, normally this would be the type of thing that would make me go absolutely crazy but for some reason it didn't. I kept asking myself why I wasn't more upset when apple called me and broke the news to me and I finally figured it out. Let me explain....

So, my harddrive actually failed the night before my computer's warranty was going to expire. When I took her to apple the next day, they literally told me I made it on time by the hairs on my chinny chin chin! They would fix it for FREE! However, at this point I didn't know and they didn't know that my hard drive had failed. Apple called me a couple days later to break the news and even though I was upset, I was honestly just thankful that it happened within the time of my warranty. Things could always be worse.

Moral of the story is, we should always try to see the glass as half full and not half empty. Trust me, I know how difficult this can be sometimes!
