RIck Owens - Step Show - Paris Fashion Week

I just had to do a post about this! I want to give a big shoutout to Rick Owens for his historical show during Paris Fashion Week. This certainly was not your average fashion showcase! Rick Owens used dancers from around the United States to showcase his ss14 collection with a mind blowing step performance. I am so in love with how he broke all the rules with this show. These were not your average young, stick thin, pale, caucasian models. Rather, these were women that ranged from age 22-40, were curvy, and racially diverse.

My Shoes Are Too Small

So ladies, if you are anything like me, then you can't pass up a nice pair of shoes just because they don't fit! Do I sound absolutely ridiculous? Maybe I do, but I feel like every one of us has been in the situation where the only pair left in those shoes you absolutely love were absolutely NOT your size. This is definitely the situation with these shoes I am wearing in the picture below.

See, I wear a size 8 in shoes and I usually can't go any smaller because my feet are so wide! However, when I found these shoes, I just had to have them. Unfortunately for me, these shoes were a 7 1/2.  The thing is, usually I can make a 7 1/2 work, but because of the style of the shoe, I found that my pinky toes were totally suffering. Did that stop me from buying them? No! But guess what! I FOUND A SOLUTION.

So you are asking yourself, "What in the world is that?" That is called the Genie Shoe Stretcher and it is a miracle worker. What you do is you put this in the shoe and adjust it to how you want it to stretch and there you have it. What works for me is to leave it in the shoe overnight and the stretch lasts. I wore these shoes the other day and felt no discomfort. Purchase the Genie Shoe Stretcher  on amazon.com today!

New Music: Sabatahj - I Ain't Trippin

Hey Everyone! Now, anyone who knows me knows that I am a supporter of the arts! I love to support the work of dancers, singers, stylists. rappers, photographers and more. Today's post features new music from new artist Sabatahj who is also referred to as "Sabatahj, The Freak." This is no mistake as he is definitely here for the ladies. Sabatahj has recently released his new single "I Ain't Trippin." Ladies, you are all definitely going to love this one.  I've personally had it on repeat since I first listened to it. It's now on my slow jams playlist. If you are looking for some feel good music to vibe to then "I Ain't Trippin" is your song!

If you enjoyed it as much as I did then you should definitely purchase "I Ain't Trippin" here on iTunes today. It is refreshing to see new singers who can actually sing and rappers who can actually rap and Mr. Sabatahj is here doing both for us. I think the first thing that drew me to the song was the way he was hitting those high notes so effortlessly. I also loved the old school feel of the song and it doesn't hurt that the video itself takes you all the way back to the 50's. I absolutely love this song!

The Cutest Outfit

Good Morning Everyone,

So, yesterday I wore the cutest outfit and I thought to myself "OMG, I have to post this."

Now, I know it is about to be Fall, but Atlanta weather isn't allowing me to dress that way.  So, here I am with my blush pumps and blush denim. I absolutely love these jeans.  The color is so feminine and they are also the perfect type of skinny. I love my skinnies to fit perfectly around my ankles because I want versatility in the types of shoes I can wear with them. Purchase a similar pair of blush jeans here at Ohh-la-la Boutiques. They are on sale right now for $45, so grab them before they disappear!

If you follow my blog and get a chance to really look at my outfit posts you will notice that I am a big fan of arm candy. I love love love to layer pieces on my wrists. I usually won't do two wrists at once but there are times where I will.

Now, you will notice that with this outfit I did match my pumps and my jeans; however, this is because it worked so well for this particular outfit. I am not someone who is big on matching. It drives my mom crazy! I will mix prints, colors, and textures like it's no mans business! I love to mix and match. I am very adventurous with my style. Now, this doesn't mean I don't put effort or thought into figuring out what to mix with what. I will not just throw anything on. Trust me, no matter how adventurous my outfit is, I alway have a reason for putting it together that way.

One last thing before I let you all browse some more pics. Remember that this Fall is the season to be adventurous with your makeup. If you aren't really big on eye shadows, blush, and what have you, I still think you should consider lipsticks. Try a bold lip this fall. Click on the names and shop these brands! Chanel, Dior, and Urban Decay have some amazing colors for their Fall 2013 lipstick collections. So be cute and be adventurous this Fall. We are only two days away from the start of this awesome season! Yay!

My Eventful Weekend

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I sure did! This blog post is about my eventful weekend!
This weekend I got to go back up to my former home Indiana! Well, I won't call it my "former" home because Indiana still has a very special place in my heart. Not only did I live there for so many years but I also have soooo much family there that it will never stop being home. And lets not forget the fact that I am an Indiana University Bloomington Alumni! Hoo Hoo Hoo HOOSIERS!! Hoosier blood in me until the END!

Soo anyway, I surprised my big sister and popped up at her house. She had absolutely no idea I was coming into town and I hadn't seen my sister in a year! My cousin Dupe caught the moment on tape! My sister shed some tears! It was so nice surprising her! Now, I love my sister but the best part of this was getting to see my nephews! I hadn't seen my nephew Elijah since he was born this time last year. Elijah turned one on September 12th. My sister threw a birthday party for him on saturday while I was there. It was so amazing seeing my baby boys! They are literally my heart! I love those two little boys with all my heart. It was amazing spending time with my sister, my brother-in-law and my nephews. I started missing them from the moment I stepped in the car and headed to the airport.

I also got to see my best friends! And when I say best friends, I mean my BEST FRIENDS! My cousins and my friends! It was sooo amazing seeing everyone. You know your relationship is real with someone when you haven't seen them in years but when you finally see them it feels like nothing ever changed. There's no awkwardness, and no weirdness. You literally just pick up where you left off. That's how it was this weekend was for me. I literally hadn't seen my cousins Yinka and Dupe in years but when we all reunited we jumped right back into things like it was 2007 again! I also got to spend time with my besties Melanie, Lazarick, Shanice, and Justin and it was the same thing with them!

So, I wanted to offer a little food for thought based on my weekend. I want you all to look around you and look at the people you call your best friends. If they were to leave RIGHT NOW and you know they will not come back for 3 years, could you guarantee that your relationship would not change? Personally, I believe if you can't then you don't have real friends. Every single person I call my best friend could live in another state for 5 years and I know when we see each other it will be like nothing ever happened. This doesn't mean everyone isn't in a different place in their lives. All my friends are doing new things with their careers, relationships, and families but at the end of the day what remains constant is the love we have for each other. I love you all. My friends and my family!

I literally had the best weekend ever! These aren't even half of all the pics I took but here's a little blast into what my weekend was like.

Hot Girl In The City : Atlanta

Hey Ladies!

I thought I would share with you some awesome shots my friend and fellow intern at Kelli Flournoy PR, Rochelle took of me. Every now and again during our lunch breaks we like to do really interny (yes, I said interny) type of things like explore the city of Atlanta. Well, our lunch break is only an hour and we are usually starving so we don't really have much time to explore that far but we definitely love exploring close to the office building. These pics are in a cute little pathway we spotted walking around the city on Monday. We actually had originally walked past it but Rochelle turned around and noticed it and I LOVED IT! I was like WE HAVE to take pictures here. And so we did. We walked off our lunch and took pictures and enjoyed the scenery. I would say I am definitely being a Hot Girl In The City of Atlanta!

If you follow my blog you will notice that this was the day that I wore that amazing high bun that I loved so much I had to blog about it! Well, the bun stayed up all day and didn't unravel like I anticipated. It did get a little loose throughout the day but it just loosened up for comfort.

How gorgeous is this pathway by the way? Did I forget to mention that at the end of the walkway was a beautiful bed of flowers. And yes, I took pictures there too! You know me, I had to have a little fun with this one! Once again, how gorgeous is this scenery? GORGEOUS!

This picture is the most significant to me because it symbolizes my life and situation right now. As you can see in this picture, I am not at the end of the pathway yet, standing in between the bed of flowers but neither I am not at the beginning of the pathway either. I am gradually getting there and continuing to walk. No stopping here! This picture is symbolic of my life right now. I am not quite where I want to be, but boy am I getting there and it sure feels great.

Buns Out! It's Monday!

Good Morning She's So Me readers! Get your BUNS (Butts) OUT! Its Monday!

Hope you all have a wonderful week! I'm so excited about the awesome things coming to She's So Me!
I'm working on some cool stuff for you all so stay tuned!

Anyway, I decided to start today off sharing a selfie with you. By the way, why is my macbook still underlining the word selfie in red? That word should totally be universal by now! Haha!

So, about this high bun that I am wearing today. I have tried this hairdo a couple times. It's a little different from the regular bun I do because its all the way at the front of my head and tilted to the side to give it a little edge. Now again, I've tried to rock this do a couple times but I always take it down because I don't think it looks right. Today, I think I finally got it to look the way I do. Now lets hope that I pinned it enough so it doesn't unravel halfway through my day lol

ENJOY!!! Again Have a Happy Monday and don't worry before you know it we'll be knocking on Friday ;)

Pets of the Internet: My Dog Alex

Hi Everyone!

With the rise of social media came the rise of super cute "Pets of the Internet." I don't know about you but I love logging on Facebook and seeing everyone's family pets. To be honest, I'm really only talking about doggies! Sorry if you have a pet snake or gerbil you are really proud of lol I'm a dog lover. I love dogs. They are truly man's best friend. This little guy in the picture with me is my family dog Alex. I love this dog! He can be such a meanie with a major tude sometimes but he's still my widdle weezle! Alex is a Cairn Terrier.

If you are trying to figure out what kind of dog to get for your family, I totally recommend the Cairn Terrier. Alex is EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT! Very easy to train and always down to go for a run! I am not even joking when I say this dog is intelligent. He learns so fast. He even picks up on things I didn't mean to teach him. For instance, whenever any one of us takes him out in the morning, we would always say the word "outside" at some point. One day I wasn't even talking to Alex and I said the word "Outside" and he ran his little behind to the door waiting for his leash to be put on. I was so amazed. And this is one of the very many things he learns day by day.

Now don't get me wrong, sometimes Alex can be a naughty little dog. The thing I love about him though is that like most dogs, even when you have to tell them off, they still love you no matter what. They are truly man's best friend. Please feel free to share pics of your own pet in the comment section!

Here are some Fun Facts about Cairn Terriers

  • Origin of the breed: Cairn Terriers originated in Scotland and was originally bred as a ratter
  • Cairn Terriers were first Registered by the AKC (American Kennel Club) in 1913
  • The weight of Cairn Terriers range from 13 - 14 pounds
  • A Cairn Terrier was the breed of the dog who played Toto in the famous movie the Wizard of Oz
  • Temperament: Lively, feisty, inquisitive, loyal and energetic but can require firm handling
  • They are considered suitable as a family pet
  • The coat is normally harsh, long, weather resistant outer coat with a soft undercoat and comes in a range of colors including cream, wheaten, red, grey or nearly black

These flats I'm wearing are normally comfortable but for some reason yesterday they were KILLING MY BABY TOES! OMG!
